The Obama Admin. just said WHAT about U.S. territories?

You won’t believe what happened this week.  On Monday the Obama Administration argued in a brief filed before the D.C. Circuit that people born in U.S. territories have no constitutional right to citizenship.  In their view, birthright citizenship is a mere privilege that Congress can turn on or off as it sees fit.

Well we’re not going to take this lying down.

Court_of_Appeals.jpgNext month we will have an opportunity to respond to the Obama Administration when we file our «reply brief» in Tuaua v. United States, a groundbreaking federal lawsuit we’re brought to challenge the idea that our constitutional rights as Americans, especially the right to citizenship, should depend on where we live or where we were born.  In April, we filed our opening brief making the case for equal citizenship.

It’s go time to stand up for equal rights in U.S. territories.  I hope we can count on your support!
