Founded in 1929, the League of United Latin American Cit izens (LULAC) is the oldest and most widely respected Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States.
LU LAC was created at a time in our country’s history when Hispanics were denied basic civil and human rights-facing prejudice and discrimination despite their contributions to American’s growth and power.
The founders of LULAC took a proactive approach. They established a grassroots organization that empowers its members to take a stand and develop community servic e programs where they are needed most.
